Following up on a recent public alert, the Riverside Police have now released a sketch of a person of interest involved in the “suspicious person” call received last week, in hopes that someone will recognize the individual.

The suspect is described as 20 to 40 years old, with brownish red hair and a goatee of the same color and wearing a black or navy colored baseball hat. He was driving a full size green van with white stripes along the sides, unknown make/model, with rust along the bottom sides of the van.

Riverside Police Chief Tom Weitzel said, “The sketch was provided by a 10-year-old girl who said a man followed her last Thursday, January 26. At about 8:20 a.m. the girl was walking to school in the area of 26th and Westover when a man in a van followed her from 26th street to the school parking lot. The child entered the parking lot of the school and the van followed her into the lot. When the child walked into the school, the van then left in an unknown direction”.

When the girl made it to school, she told officials what had happened and they notified police.
