Juan Salas, 32, was pulled over in Riverside on Monday, February 13, for a routine traffic violation which led police to discover that he was wanted in Colorado for drug possession. Stopped at the intersection of Lionel Road and Delaplaine, Salas was unable to produce identification or a valid driver’s license and was arrested and brought to the Riverside Police (RP) station for processing. |

According to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Traffic Safety Division an American dies at the hands of an impaired driver every 30 minutes. In an effort to eradicate this avoidable statistic IDOT has teamed with local and state law enforcement agencies, including the Riverside Police Department (RPD), to ensure motorists “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over”. |

Riverside Deputy Chief John Krull, a 24-year member of the Riverside Police Department, has recently been appointed to the ITT Technical Institute Criminal Justice Advisory Committee. In a statement released by Chief Tom Weitzel he said “One of the most important duties of police leadership is to appoint qualified command staff members to serve on various committees whose work is so important to the success of the law enforcement profession, Deputy Chief Krull is one of those leaders”. |
