Brookfield police charged Kyle E. Gibson, 23, of 3515 Blanchan Avenue with five counts of burglary to a motor vehicle after victim identifies him.

A resident in the 3600 block of Grand Boulevard called police after she chased a man, in a black trench coat, from inside her parked car.

Police stopped a suspect, matching the caller’s description, a few blocks away.  When the witness was able to positively identify him he was placed into custody and searched.  Police found prescription drugs prescribed to the victim and a GPS unit stolen from another vehicle in the 3800 block of Arthur Avenue, according to police reports.

Gibson told police he started checking vehicle doors to commit a burglary after leaving a restaurant that he stopped at while walking home from work.
